Justice For All

Justice for All

Grant Associates stands with the African American community and all people of color. We stand against oppression, institutional, and systemic racism. We stand firmly on the side of equity. Grant Associates stands for civil rights and justice for all.

The murder of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police has sparked an outpouring of frustration and anger in our hearts, across our nation, and around the world. As we are all painfully aware, George Floyd is only one of many African Americans and persons of color unjustly killed due to the color of their skin. Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner, and countless others represent a tiny fraction of our fellow citizens, our brothers, and sisters, who have met a tragic death because of how people of color are regarded and treated.

We watched the video of George Floyd’s last minutes and thought, “What were those officers thinking? How could they do this? In what world would they think this is ok?” The sad truth is it is this world. It is this America. An America where systemic racism—in law enforcement, healthcare, education, housing, and economic opportunity and jobs—has been oppressing and killing people of color for far too long.

For over 22 years, Grant Associates has been an advocate for social justice, helping individuals empower themselves through the dignity of work, and advocating for our most marginalized populations. Up until now, we thought our work, as important and as impactful as it is, was enough. It is not. We have come to understand that our silence—and the silence of many other companies and people across the nation—has continued to let systemic racism fester and grow.

We are committed to being part of the solution. Inside our company, we will strengthen our efforts to create a culture of mutual respect and empathy. We will continue to create space for honest dialogue with one another about the challenges we face and how we build equity and inclusion into the fabric of our company. In our communities, we will speak up and raise our collective voices whenever we see injustice and advocate for justice.

Here are a few ways we can stand together: vote in local, state, and national elections, contact your representative or senator, and let your voice be heard, and join with us and other organizations committed to social justice.

We are silent no more. Today we end our silence and emphatically state where we stand.
