One-Stop

Job placement leader among

One-Stop operators

Our first workforce customers were Fortune 500 companies who needed help solving staffing shortages by connecting with Welfare-to-Work programs. That early involvement helped define our approach to One-Stop management and led to the success of our One-Stop programs in major U.S. cities. In New York City alone, Grant Associates has been the leading One-Stop provider since 2005, serving more than 100,000 job seekers and 5,000 businesses annually. We take pride in our ability to continuously transform people’s lives — exposing them to careers, empowering them with job search tools, building skills, addressing their obstacles to employment and advancement, and connecting them with jobs that fit their overall career plan.

Career Guidance

Our services are delivered with the long term in mind — using employment as just one component of a career strategy. Given that many candidates have limited exposure to potential careers, our first priority is to connect them with options that best match their interests, skills and lifestyle. We then work with them to develop their potential, and move them along a sensible career pathway that may include education and training or job advancement.

future economies

With deep business connections, Grant Associates began employing sector-based approaches even before national research found them to be effective. Leveraging our large network of business partners, covering multiple industries, Grant Associates has the insights to customized programs and create sector centers covering, transportation, manufacturing, construction and hospitality. Our intimate knowledge is backed by own research of market trends, economic development and industry intelligence to shape services and training needs that will provide pipeline of skilled, job-ready workers.

Education & Training

Boosting skills and

earning potential

Grant Associates empowers its job seekers with the support, skills and credentials they need to secure a job — and the candidates that businesses need to successfully expand their workforce. Education is consistently integrated into our services as a part of the career development continuum. We begin by exposing our customers to alternate career options. We offer immediate access to learning opportunities that can maximize short-term earning potential. Our workshops cover professional development, resume writing, interviewing skills and computer literacy, as well as our ESL and TASC (formerly GED) instruction — all contextualized to the work setting. If in-demand skills aren’t being offered, Grant Associates works with training and education providers to develop courses that address those areas. Once our job seekers are employed, we engage them in further activities geared toward future advancement.

Special Populations

Breaking through barriers,

creating opportunities

for employment

Grant Associates has an earned reputation for breaking with conventional wisdom in serving individuals with serious and persistent barriers to employment. Using our business-based model, we continue to defy expectations and achieve extraordinary outcomes for many special populations, including disconnected youth, welfare recipients and people whose first language is not English, as well as returning citizens. Our unique program model includes training and support that establishes clear career goals and enables job seekers to compete in today’s job market, and once employed, to attain self-sufficiency.

TANF

For Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) customers—Grant Associates designs programs to transition even the most challenging populations, including long-term recipients, in sanction status and recipients who have no work experience, back into the workforce.

Returning Citizens

For men and women with a criminal justice background, Grant Associates helps secure employment—and a new start. Because we continuously exceed expectations and our approach is a critical component to criminal justice strategies, funding and contract terms have been increased multiple times.

Youth

Grant Associates provides at-risk youth with better options. Each year, we connect 15,000 people under age 24 to employment and work experience opportunities in our workforce centers. Although they represent one-third of our customer base, our returning citizens program attracts many young people with criminal justice backgrounds. Our unconventional, no nonsense approach appeals to young people and encourages them to actively participate in all of our programs.

In addition, we provide professional development, résumé building, interviewing skills and computer skills, as well as ESL and Adult Basic Education and GED services, customized for each work setting and industry.
