Grant Associates is a national workforce development company with a proven model for engaging businesses
and implementing effective programs that result in increased employment. We are experienced in designing
programs, performing sector work, creating and managing One-Stop operations, serving special populations,
providing human resources consulting services, fostering collaboration between education and workforce
enterprises, and providing business services.
One-Stop Operations
Leading Job Placement Outcomes
Five Years in a Row
Today we serve 1,000 business customers across
all industries, especially in retail and financial
services, professional services, hospitality and
food service sectors. Major corporations like
CVS, Citigroup, Delta Airlines, The Home
Depot and Time Warner Cable have been
clients for more than five years. In 2010, our
Queens Workforce1 Career Center filled 7,000
positions. We placed 4,000 jobseekers in just
the first five months of 2011 under additional
contracts, including the Brooklyn Workforce1
Career Center. Grant Associates has been the job
placement leader among New York City’s six
One-Stop operators for five consecutive years.
Sector Services
Leveraging Deep Business Relationships
to Create New Opportunities for Workers
Demonstrating that manufacturing is still a viable
sector, we increased the number of job placements in our
first year operating the New York City Manufacturing
Career Center to 280, up from the 80 placements
achieved under the prior vendor’s contract. At the same
time, 150 jobseekers entered advanced training and
education programs with a graduation rate of almost 80
percent. Based on input from businesses serving on the
Leadership Committee of our Transportation Career
Center, now in its fourth year, we developed a
supervisory training program for incumbent workers
that resulted in 52 promotions for 136 employees who
participated. Scholars at Work, a collaboration between
the Transportation Career Center, the NYC Department
of Education, the NYC Department of Small Business
Services and the NYC Workforce Investment Board,
produced 22 internships in 2010, with half of these
interns moving on to full time jobs. We expect these
results to increase by at least 50 percent in 2011.
Special Populations
Breaking Through Barriers
to Employment
We are the job placement and retention
leader among contractors in New York City,
Philadelphia and Atlanta serving individuals
with barriers to employment. Under a New
York City contract to serve individuals on
probation, we achieved over 400 placements
last year, of which 100 were high wage
placements paying $12/hour or more. We
also achieved a one-year retention rate of
60 percent, exceeding performance
guidelines by 10 percent.
Business Services
Promoting Job Growth by Building
Business Capacity
With the assistance of our Bronx and Queens
Business Solutions Centers, nearly 100 new
businesses launched last year. In addition, 150
businesses obtained loans totaling $3.5 million as
a result of our services.
