Free Pre-apprenticeship Training Programs Now Offered to Sandy-impacted Residents

NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery (HRO) Amy Peterson, and New York City Council Member Mark Treyger, announced on May 14…that the City’s Sandy Recovery Workforce1 initiative would be making free pre-apprenticeship training opportunities in construction available to low- and middle-income residents of Sandy-impacted areas. The initiative is part of the de Blasio administration’s efforts to create an equitable recovery, both physically and economically, in New York’s most hard-hit communities.
